We have been shortlisted for the “Contractor of the Year” award at this years National Building & Construction Awards!
This project at Jordan house, in Birmingham, for Wates Group, involved crucial fire stopping works in the older block to ensure it met safety standards for the safety of the residents . The other part of the project was to change the old existing soil pipe stances with minimal disruption.
This multi occupancy property owned by Birmingham City Council needed the old cast soil pipes replacing with fabricated modern stacks, that were not only more sustainable, but meant we could install whilst the residents remained in their homes during the replacement, minimizing disruption and saving the council money on not having to provide temporary accommodation.
Wates Operations Manager, Neil Stevenson feedback on the project: “The challenges with carrying out construction work within a live environment requires a different mindset, with the priority being the end user at all times, ensuring disruption is kept to a minimum to people’s day to day lives. As a contractor you cannot just “leave it until tomorrow” so at times it requires you to go above and beyond, something Legionella & Fire Safe Services achieved on this project as they have the correct mindset and care that’s always needed”
The awards take place on Thursday 17th November – fingers crossed! Good Luck to all the other finalists!
