Legionella & Fire Safe Services delivers a range of water hygiene and fire safety critical building compliance services on a planned and periodic basis. We evolve our services based on client’s needs and requirements, which has most recently incorporated energy reducing solutions connected to hot water systems in both the Social Housing sector and light commercial premises.

Our business stands for quality of delivery for our clients, offering a turnkey approach which incorporates many separate service streams which can be completed at the same time.

We recognise that creating a rewarding, positive and supportive environment for our employees is key to our future growth and as such the board of directors and shareholders stand behind our motto “we are nothing without our people”

LFS is committed to reducing our environmental footprint, reducing waste and emissions by 25% by 2030. This commitment means that 60% of our revenue is considered “clean.”

Another bonus is our commitment to gender diversity. Our board of directors is made up of 50% of women.

While we continuously work on reducing our carbon footprint, we also work with Ecologi to offset our carbon footprint using investment in Reforestation and Carbon Avoidance Projects. With the investments we have made as a company, we are proud to share that Legionella Fire Safe Services are carbon-neutral.

Steve Broughton

Steve lives with his family in Sussex after moving back to the coast following 13 years of living in London pursuing a corporate career after he graduated from Keele University with a degree in Biology.

Steve set up his first business after working in the corporate environment in his twenties. Steve was the CEO of what grew to be the UK’s largest independent specialist cleaning company employing 120 staff. Recently he sold that business as part of an MBO deal in 2022 to spend more time focusing on Legionella and FireSafe Services.

Steve splits his time between his young family and his current role as investor/shareholder and Chairman of Legionella and FireSafe Services where he applies the knowledge he has gained as an entrepreneur and his passion for building successful businesses.

Steve Morris

Steve has over 35 years within the Water Treatment, Legionella, and Plumbing & Heating industry.

In 2017 he had the vision to set up a business that could provide service excellence, and that is when he set up the company with his business partners.

Steve is passionate about the business, the customers, and the employees. He ensures that everyone on his team is cared for and looked after in the best way possible.

His passion is utilising and developing our colleagues’ skills effectively, and the business has ambitious plans for our future growth, constantly seeking new energy-saving innovations for all clients aligning our business with net zero ambitions & goals.

Danielle Bayliss​

As Operations Director Danielle is responsible for leading the delivery teams within Legionella and Fire Safe Services.

This covers all the operational sites for our divisions, as well as working alongside colleagues in developing new Business streams and working closely to ensure the business is an excellent place for people to work.

Danielle has gained vast experience and respect in the industry and has been recognized as one of the top women in Construction.

A mother to a young daughter, she is a force to be reckoned with, she loves the challenge of working within the constraints of budget and schedule while delivering services we can all be proud of.

Danielle prides herself and the team on communicating and ensuring our operations teams can do their job with our ultimate goal to be as invisible as possible with the aim to create a calmness within the organized chaos that construction projects often tend to be.

Caroline Bigg

Caroline started working in a high street retail bank before joining a Japanese Investment Bank in the City. She moved to work locally after the birth of her children and became a Director for a local Financial Services Company. After seven years, Caroline felt it was time to move out of the financial sector and into an SME, where she could use her banking and financial knowledge to assist in their growth.
Caroline joined CleanSafe Services to set up their accounting and back office functions and, as Finance Director, assisted the Company in expanding into Waste and pest divisions, with companies eventually merging to become SafeGroup Services in 2020. During this time in 2017, Caroline became the Finance Director For Legionella and Fire Safe Services and assisted heavily in the setup of this new Company.
Caroline has been responsible for implementing all the financial aspects of the Business. She has put in place a strong finance department, allowing her to concentrate on more of the financial decisions within the Company.
Caroline loves riding her motorbike and raising funds for our veterans in her spare time.

James Taylor

Having finished a BSc Hons Degree, James followed in his father’s footsteps and entered the construction industry.

Initially undertaking refurbishments and refresh works across the country on various projects for Nat West and Barclays Banks.

James became interested in the Passive Fire industry nearly 10yrs ago, working on multiple Fire Protection projects, upgrading obsolete systems, and installing new ones across many Social Housing Contracts.

Since this initial introduction, James felt the need to progress and obtained his BMTrada accreditations.

James worked his way up into management and now heads up the whole of the Fire Division.

Kym Darby

As Business Manager, Kym looks after numerous parts of the business.

Coming from an established and highly experienced background in PR and media, Kym has been the driving force behind our heavy social media presence and numerous marketing campaigns.

Looking after the team is what Kym excels at; head of HR, she thrives on making sure our teams are cared for, arranging numerous activities to support their mental health and well-being, and knowing that we are always there for them, whether that be personal or work-related.

Kym is also the Chairwoman of the James Bulger Memorial Trust and spends a lot of her spare time raising funds for the charity and awareness of the excellent work the charity does.

Mark Butler

Mark is responsible for Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality at head office, remote work sites, and field
engineers.

From a background in automotive leading to manufacturing and logistics management, Mark soon developed a keen interest in health & safety.

Becoming H & S Manager in 2005 and then obtaining NEBOSH & Fire Safety Management
qualifications.

Main areas of responsibility in the past were the safe manufacture, storage, handling of dangerous goods, spillage control, flammable, highly flammable substances, Dangerous Substances & Explosives Atmosphere Regulations, and staff training to ISO standards.

In 2015 Mark was promoted to
Operations Manager and this role further developed into multi-site facilities management before joining Legionella and Fire Services, where Mark 

Melissa Baker

Melissa manages the finance team at the Head office.

With over 15 years of experience in management accounting and administration.

Melissa reports to the senior management and board of Directors, performing data analysis and advising them on profit-maximizing ideas and developing plans for long-term financial goals.

Outside of work, Melissa has a keen interest in photography and enjoys spending time with her family and her dog.
